Thinking About A New Home? Take Advantage Of The Real Estate Bailout.
This is the perfect time to buy a new home. As part of the Real Estate Bailout, the government is offering tax credits of up to $8,000 for first time home buyers. $8,000 WOW! This something that has never been done before and probably will never be done again. You really need to take a look at this.
If you are a first time home buyer, and you sign a binding and written contract prior to April 30, 2010, you could qualify for a tax credit of up to $8,000. If you are single with income of less than $125,000 or married with income of less than $225,000 then you could qualify for this tax credit. This credit will not be renewed and it expires on April 30, 2010. You really need to take advantage of this. This is the best time in history to be in the real estate market.
Many people are reading this and thinking, I already have a home and so this doesn’t apply to me. Nothing could be farther from the truth. If you have lived in your current home for 5 of the past 8 years then it is possible that you could qualify for up to a $6,500 federal income tax credit. You won’t get a chance like this again.
There isn’t a lot of time left. You need to contact your tax professional or your local Coldwell Banker professional and take advantage of this once in a lifetime opportunity. So make the call you will be glad you did.
There is no place like home and home is Detroit!
Being someone who was born and raised in Detroit, I believe I can speak with authority on the city. I am currently retired military and can live anywhere I decide to live. There is something about living in the “D”.
The museums in Detroit are great. They provide a wide range of diversity that few cities can achieve. You see museums from the Museum of Contemporary Art to the Motown Historical Museum. You can go to the Charles H Wright Museum and the walk to the Detroit Science Center. There are 7 different museums near the downtown area.
Then if you want to look for a different type of entertainment, there are plenty of spectator sports. If professional sports are your thing, we have something all year around. The Lions, Pistons, Red Wings and Tigers will keep you hopping. Then there are the universities of Michigan State and University of Michigan. Not to mention all the local high school, junior high and recreational leagues that provide year around entertainment.
Something that only true Detroit natives will know is the Detroit style Coney Island dog. A Coney Dog that has Detroit style chili, fresh chopped onions and yellow mustard. There is nothing like it. Restaurants Lafayette Coney Island and All American Coney Island make a dog that just can’t be beat.
Then there are the festivals. Detroit has festivals at the Heart Plaza. Ethnic festivals are part of who we are. There are the music festivals like the Motor City Blues Festival and the Monterey Jazz Festival to name a couple. The Harvest Beer Festival is another that is a blast..
Detroit has gone through some bad times. Many people have decided to leave Detroit for “greener” pastures. This is their loss and your gain. Detroit is a great place to work and live. The prices for real estate have never been cheaper. I can tell you I live here by choice and would never live anywhere else.
