I could really use some input from the more experienced horse people.

My husband and I are looking to move. I have a horse, we’re looking for a place with a barn. I work full time.

So this place is up for sale on 38 acres, a 30 stall barn, indoor, several paddocks and about 40 horses. The fences need to be fixed, I wonder how much of a train wreck some of the horses are (health wise, etc) and there are some issues with the barn.

So here are some things wrong with the place:

1. Fences need to be repaired/replaced
2. Horses infested with worms – I know how to treat the horses, how can I treat the land that they’ve been pooping on for years?
3. Horses in the barn have had strangles. Is there a way to eliminate the strangles without burning the barn down?
4. The place has a BAAAAD reputation. Is “under new management” sufficient to really make a go at things and find new boarders?
5. I can teach beginners, reteach adults the basics but I lack the knowledge to teach more advanced people. Would hiring on a trainer to work there help the situation?
