Pellet Guns
Pellet Guns
Guest Post By: Nina G.
Pellet guns are projectile weapons whose name is derived from the ammunition they fire. Generally, this is a 4.5 mm to 5.6 mm pellet made of lead, which is shaped something like a small-capped mushroom with a hollow base for the gun’s piston to engage when firing. Although pellet guns are not generally considered firearms, they can indeed be deadly and all safe gun handling practices should always be observed when loading and firing a pellet gun.
Customarily, pellet guns are used for target practice and small game hunting. Often, a pellet gun is the first gun that is introduced to a child when they are learning to shoot. Pellets are a less expensive form of ammunition, which makes it ideal for use during a beginner’s target practice while they learn the best shooting techniques and practices. The pellet gun is also useful to the homeowner or gardener that needs to kill pests invading their homes or gardens. With sufficient air pumped into the pellet gun, small vermin don’t stand a chance.
With the Olympic Games coming to Vancouver, British Columbia in just a couple of months, it is interesting to note that pellet gun target shooting is one of the events. If watching this event on television, note the complex pellet guns that are used. These are not the standard garden vermin killers that many people use. The pellet guns must be very accurate and are often custom-made for the shooter. Hours of practice are necessary to meet the goals of an Olympian, and that alone should prove that the pellet gun has its place in today’s sports activities.
Detox Houston
Detox Houston

If you live in Houston and are in need of help with detox or relapse prevention and protection, there are many places to find open arms. The Bay Area Recovery Center specializes in providing a safe detox from opiates, alcohol, polysubstance and pain medications. If you have already been through a detox program and are worried about relapse, the center can help you right away.
As a patient you will visit an office rather than your traditional rehab, psychiatric hospital, or mental health clinic. This leaves the patient feeling less committed and more like a willing participant to their own recovery. After undergoing detox, the patient works with the staff for six months. There are other programs within the detox Houston area. Patients who enter the center can also have individual or group therapy. Of course, everything is strictly confidential.
Besides working on the obvious recovery from drug detox, this center works on improving the patient’s mental and physical energy, increasing their understanding of personal responsibility, as well as their responsibility for their addiction. Then, a connection can be properly developed with the world around them, improving their ability care for themselves without drugs.
If you are looking for other places for people to detox, you should check out the Sober Recovery Community. They offer information and resources based on categories such as treatment centers, programs by client type, special focus programs, and even more recovery websites. Find more information on detox Houston and more at www.bayarearecovery.com.
