Question by : Why can’t I update my iPhone 4?
I just purchased a brand new iPhone 4 from the shops and first thing i did was connect it to my computer (imac) and allowed iTunes to back up from a previous iPhone backup which was my old 3gs it copied my data like songs pics apps and contacts from a previous back up from my old 3gs and after doing that i went to update my phone to iOS 5.0.1 it started off normally.. it said preparing iPhone 4 for update… then it went to the next box saying backing up iPhone 4 then it said verifying iPhone restore with apple and then straight away i get an alert message box saying “the iPhone “iPhone 4″ could not be restored. this device isn’t eligible for the requested build.” and thats it. why does it say this? my computer is up to date my iTunes is up to date i don’t know what to do can someone please help me.

you got it backwards. restore your phone to the original software, “hard reset” it from within the phone, then update to iOS 5.0.1, then import all of your old information.

Essentially, a mac programmer screwed up and your old data is conflicting with the new OS, big surprise, but your import routine into iOS5.0.1 should work just fine.

Classic case of DRIVERS OR OS, THEN RESTORE FILES AND PROGRAMS. One must start of the foundation of software and build from there, just like a house.

My iPhone won’t restore? Help please!?

Question by : My iPhone won’t restore? Help please!?
Okay so the home button was stuck on my old iPhone 4 so I went to the Apple store and the gave me a new iPhone for free. They asked me if my phone was backed up and I said yes. So when I got home I plugged it in and tried to restore it to “Amanda’s iPhone” which has all my contacts and stuff on it. But it said something like “This iPhone cannot be restored. First set it up as a new device and then try to restore it.” That isn’t exactly what they said but it was something like that I just can’t remember what the message was exactly. So I did what I was told and now whenever I try to update or restore my iPhone an error message comes up that says “The iPhone ‘Amanda’s iPhone’ cannot be restored. This device isn’t eligible for the requested build.” My old iPhone 4 that had the stuck home button was updated to iOS 5. But the phone they gave me is only version 4.3.5. And it won’t let me update or get any of my stuff back!! I researched it on Google and all signs point to it was Jailbroken but it wasn’t!!?? My friend wanted me to jailbreak my phone so she downloaded some software back when I had my old iPhone with the stuck home button but I stopped the download because I told her I didn’t want to do it. Plus even if I would’ve done it, that was with an iPhone I don’t even have anymore. This is a brand new iPhone 4 and I deleted all the jailbreaking software my friend downloaded. But anyway how can I restore??/

You can’t. best bet is to sell the phone on ebay and then go out an purchase an android phone. They are better, faster, and cheaper. One downside it is less shiny

Okay okay i’ll be nice. use another computer and update phone to IOS 5 and then it should restore. It has nothing to do with jailbreaking

They probably gave you a defective one so when you come back they can try to upsell you the 4S ahahha Oh apple…

Is it a bad idea to wait until January to buy a new car?

by Tom.Jenkins

Question by Beth: Is it a bad idea to wait until January to buy a new car?
When will I have a better edge at wheeling and dealing with the dealership? I’m buying a brand new Mitsubishi Lancer (most likely a 2009 since they’ll have to “build” the specific car I want). I know the economy sucks which will give me a little bit more of an edge since car sales suck right now.. they’ll be anxious to make the sale. They’d like me to come in this Saturday to talk figures (trade-in value, interest rates, etc).. Thing is, I’ve got some damage on my trade-in vehicle that can be taken care of in January but.. will I lose any of my upper-ground by waiting until the beginning of the year? And if that’s the case, would having a dented door on my trade-in be a catalyst in getting the best deal I can get?

You will get a better deal before the end of the year as dealers want to get the cars off the lot for tax reasons and to make room for the new models.
